Several years ago I discovered the Mare Island shipyard after it had been decommissioned by the navy. The unusual equipment and architecture inspired me to photograph this area as it was quickly changing into private sector commercial and industrial facilities. Several of these images were in a group show with others that felt the same. It was shot in 4x5 film.
